Frequently Asked Questions
Sunscreen should be applied generously at least every 2 hours, after 40 minutes of being in the water, or immediately after toweling off. If the sun is particularly strong we suggest shortening these times to be extra cautious.
The European Commission describes a Nanomaterial as an insoluble or bio-persistent and intentionally manufactured material with one or more external dimensions, or an internal structure, on the scale from 1 to 100 nanometers. (The FDA does not offer a definition for a nanomaterial.) Inline with this definition, studies have shown that there is no real concern with zinc particle sizes less than 100 nanometers entering the body through application and even if they did there would be no harmful effect as a result. Therefore the zinc we use in our sunscreen is not classified as a nanomaterial even though the individual particle sizes used in the formula range below 100 nanometers.

SPF 30 means a sunscreen protects your skin from UVB rays 30 times longer than if you didn’t have any sunscreen on. Broad spectrum is what protects from UVA rays. However since everyone has different skin sensitivities and sun rays have different intensities and wavelengths even SPF 30 sunscreen should be applied and reapplied per the directions you’ll find on the back of the tube. Remember that sunscreen is just one of many sunsafe measures.
Chemical sunscreens use ingredients like oxybenzone and octinoxate that absorb the sunlight into them. The problem is the sunlight is being absorbed into these chemicals that are on your skin and additionally these ingredients are actually very bad for the health of your skin. Alternatively natural (mineral) sunscreen use zinc oxide or titanium dioxide (in our case zinc) which act as blockers against the sunlight and protect the skin from the UV rays.
Nope! Once you apply our sunscreen and it fully absorbs into the skin you or your child will not be left with a greasy or sticky feel.
The expiration date of the sunscreen is 2 years from the manufacture date and can be found on the crimp at the top of the tube.
Yes, all of our bottles and tubes can and should be recycled appropriately.
